Crisis in Honduras

This is a special blog post regarding the crisis in Honduras, I'm still searching a topic for this blog.

As some of you, if anyone really reads this, know there has been a crisis in my country Honduras. We are on the verge of anarchy and the break of constitutionalism. For those who from the outside I will outline the major points of the current situation.
Our current constitution was created in 1982 after years and years of military coups and a total instability of government since practically the end of the Central American state. This constitution outlines the major and most important parts of our political, economic and even social system. It is also an open constitution that allows for the congress to change most of it, the only parts that can't be changed are those that deal with reelection, the time for a president to be in power, among other subjects.
About three plus years ago, the people (in a very controversial election) choose our current president, Manuel Zelaya (only 22% of the population behind him), who I shall refer to as El PAJArraco. His ideas at the beginning seemed pretty average for a politician of his party so no one was really alarmed, he even seemed to be a better choice over the other candidate who favored death penalty. Yet his speech and actions started changing as soon as he reached power. He started leaning towards the so-called "XXI century ""Socialism""" (and I can emphasize enough the "Socialism" part because it's pure corruption) practiced by countries such as Venezuela, Cuba or Ecuador. He signed the a treaty with these countries that is now knows as ALBA and whose major leader is no other than Chavez. He also has been inviting Chavez to Honduras for the past year or so and has gone to meetings with people like Fidel Castro or his brother Roberto in Cuba.
A couple of months ago, el PAJArraco and his people started to invent a new device to turn this country into a fail attempt at "communism." He devised the creation of a fourth ballot box (there are three, one for president, one for congress and one for majors) in which he was going to ask the people if the wanted a new constitution and he wanted to institute this ballot as an every election occurrence. As I said before this consult is illegal because our constitution can not be changed or a new constitutional assembly be called. El PAJArraco also devised the creation of a consult that was later declared as illegal by basically everyone that knows something about our laws in the country. He also asked the armed forces to help him with his illegal survey, or however you would like to call it. Many people, retired officials and even reservists, remembered the armed forces that their task was to serve first the people and to protect the constitution, above any orders from their general commander, a.k.a. el PAJArraco.
A couple of days ago, specifically Wednesday July 24, 2009, he decided to fire the commander of the joint armed forces (Navy, Army, Air Force etc.) because he told him the armed forces couldn't go ahead with his orders because this was illegal. He proceeded to accept the Minister of Defense's resignation from his post. All hell broke loose after this announcement. The events have been followed, even if little, by the world media, so I will not bore you with them. I will skip to those events that are not mentioned in the world media. Yesterday and the day before, congress got together to talk about this issue, they even started an investigation that could end with the impeachment of el PAJArraco.
Today, all of this unfortunately stopped leaving el PAJArraco feeling brave and making him act even more stupidly than ever before. Today he finally admitted that he wanted to change the government in Honduras and even went as far as saying that they will "regulate" the free press and by default our freedom of speech!! One of the most important rights every single human being has!
If anyone with enough power ever reads this before is too late, I ask of you to do something for this country, we don't want to be a country like Venezuela or Cuba, we want to be free, and this is not because I'm part of what this asshole calls Groups of Power, because I'm not, this is because I love my country so much. This is because I'm proud, and will always be to call this great land mine! And I will not sit quietly while some uneducated bastard destroys what is mine!
For those without the power need to change this, the only thing I ask is for your support at this hard moment.
May God help Honduras.
